The Sustainable City – Yas Island is a neighborhood focused on sustainability that offers Abu Dhabi people a new way of life. Aldar Properties and Diamond Developers launched it. The family-friendly development is a walkable neighborhood surrounded by open green spaces, leisurely walks, and communal farming plots that build on the qualities of The Sustainable City – Dubai.

A central green spine that runs the length of the neighborhood and includes parks, lakes, and biodomes where vegetables will be grown and dispersed throughout the neighborhood serves as the project’s structural support.

Three sustainability pillars—social, environmental, and economic—will serve as the foundation of The Sustainable City on Yas Island, a completely sustainable neighborhood. The property will be powered by pure renewable energy, featuring solar panels placed on every parking structure. As one of the few Estidama 3-pearl communities in Abu Dhabi, this will allow residents to save up to 50% on energy costs. To further reduce carbon emissions, water use, energy use, and trash, the neighborhood will also benefit from recycling facilities, sustainability technology, community design concepts, and high-efficiency water systems.
